| PANDDA 2021 Standards for Nursing Practice (2nd Ed.)

The aim of the 2020 PANDDA Standards is to enhance the health and wellbeing of people who have intellectual and developmental disability and inform nursing and community expectations of this specialty area of nursing practice.


The 2020 Revised PANDDA Standards for Nursing Practice define the professional expectations of nurses who work with people who have intellectual and developmental disability. These standards provide a framework for the values, knowledge, skills, and attributes held by nurses who work with people with intellectual and developmental disability within community and health care setting.


The PANDDA Standards will assist/support nurses, people with intellectual and developmental disability, their families, caregivers, support people, educators, medical professionals, businesses, government, and members of the public.


It is fundamental (or necessary) that nurses who work with people who have intellectual and developmental disability are aware of and are informed by the 2020 PANDDA Standards. Characterised by 4 Domain areas and 8 Practice Standards.
