Disability Nurse Navigator


About the presenter: Rhonda Beggs

Rhonda is a disability nurse navigator based in a tertiary hospital in South East Queensland. Rhonda trained in the UK in the 1990s as an intellectual disability nurse, and subsequently gained dual registration as a mental health nurse. Rhonda has worked extensively in community nursing settings and is a firm believer of accessible health care in the community for all.


About the presentation

The presentation will focus on the delivery of Disability Nurse Navigation model at the point of contact with the client using a case study.

1. Understanding the Disability Nurse Navigator role.

2. Understand what the four pillars of Nurse Navigation model are.

3. How they apply in the context of disability.
