About the presenter

Pete Jones, Nurse Practitioner, Neurology/Epilepsy

Pete initially studied science in Bristol, UK before pursuing a nursing carer in England in the late 1990s.

In 2002 Pete moved to Australia and commence working at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, first in general medicine before moving to Intensive care where his passion for neurological nursing began.

Pete’s prior roles include nurse unit manager of neurology and clinical nurse consultant in epilepsy. Pete completed his master’s in nursing science (Nurse Practitioner) to become Queensland’s only current NP dedicated to the care and management of patients with epilepsy.

About the presentation

The presentation will focus on the diagnosis and classification of epilepsy, seizure management and differential diagnoses including functional neurological disorders.
